You already check FBO, eBuy, acquisition.gov, and numerous other sites as part of your opportunity development checklist. Well, now GSA has created one more site for the small business developer, Forecast of Contracting Opportunities. GSA Administrator Denise Turner Roth announced the tools launch March 16 as part of her “Making It Easier” (MIE) Initiative.
Administrator Roth has been working to strengthen GSA’s image and influence as the source for Federal opportunities and contracting vehicles, earning success with the Health IT SIN, eMall bridges, and continuing several important BPA/GWACS.
The Forecast of Contracting Opportunities tool will allow business to search upcoming opportunities by Agency, Award Status, Place of Performance, NAICS, value, and Socioeconomic Category.
Administrator Roth released the following statement on this announcement, “The General Services Administration is constantly seeking new ways to improve communication and transparency to allow vendors, especially small enterprises, a better chance for success in doing business with the government. That is why we’re excited to launch our new automated Small Business Forecast Tool. This tool focuses on acquisition planning, making vendors aware of opportunities early in the acquisition process.”
GSA will host a Google Hangout session on Wednesday, March 23 at 1 p.m. EST, and post the link to join the discussion via their twitter feed, @GSAOSBU, around 12:45 p.m. EST the morning of the event.
