What is Maximum Order Threshold?
The first thing to understand is that the Maximum Order Threshold (MOT) is not a limitation task order awards. The MOT is the dollar value threshold on which the ordering agency may request additional price reductions on the task order. Additionally, Contractors have the right to refuse any orders over the MOT. The ordering agencies are encouraged to ask for an additional discount if they are ordering over the MOT however, the contractor is not obligated to grant any additional discounts.
How are MOT’s Determined?
A maximum order threshold is determined by the SINS on your schedule and range from $250,000-$5,000,000. SINS with a large labor category often have the same maximum order limit. Below is a summary table to show with a few of the more popular SINs and their Maximum Order Threshold.
