Updates to Pathways to Success and Readiness Assessment Under Refresh 9
All GSA Schedule contractors should be aware of the latest solicitation refresh released in December 2021. Currently on refresh 9, this and the previous refresh have had a slew of updates that have kept us all busy. There is a lot to pick apart and discuss, but we’ll focus on the new requirements and updates specifically for the Pathways to Success training (with certificate) and the Readiness Assessment market analysis. Be advised that both topics apply to new offerors, however current contractors can retain their proficiency by re-taking these courses and exercises.
What Is Changing in Refresh 9?
Previously, new offerors were required to take the Pathways to Success and receive a training certificate. This certificate was then uploaded as part of your offer to GSA. Further, new offerors had to conduct a brief market analysis and complete a Readiness Assessment. Previously made available in the GSA Vendor Education Center, these two are now found on a page simply named “Get Ready.”
Pathways to Success is a self-paced training course that will take approximately 3-4 hours to complete and is now available in PDF PowerPoint here. The purpose of Pathways to Success is to help prospective contractors learn:
- How GSA Schedule contracts work.
- How to succeed as an industry partner.
- What you need to do to be awarded a contract.
- Details about the offer process.
- See some contracting opportunities that are available.
The Readiness Assessment is designed to help you conduct a market analysis on your industry to help you decide if the GSA Schedule is a good fit for your company. While the material and questions are like previous editions of the assessment, the main difference is that you are no longer required to provide a copy with your offer. Instead, offerors can complete the updated Readiness Assessment dated December 2021 found here.
Updates Visible in the eOffer Process
Above is the first screen introduced to the vendor once the eOffer process has been initiated. GSA requires potential vendors to complete the Pathways to Success and Readiness Assessment and then acknowledge completion in eOffer. Be sure to click both responses and continue with the application.
Since the Pathways to Success certificate is no longer attainable you are not required to upload it with the eOffer. Similarly, you are not required to upload the Readiness Assessment however you may still upload it with the eOffer, if you are inclined.
