Insight to 2016 IT Acquisitions

by | Mar 15, 2016

2016 is quickly becoming the year of the Federal IT Contract with two anticipated new contracting vehicles and civilian agency IT budget of over $51 Billion.

The FY2016 Federal IT Budget includes $19B for cybersecurity with increases for purchasing and implementing cybersecurity programs in nearly every agency.

Other growth areas include cloud and agile development.

GSA’s Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions (EIS)

This RFP was released October 2015 and has a ceiling of $50B.  Its anticipated award is in Fall 2016 and provides for a 15-year period of performance.

The EIS contract is the first contracting vehicle developed around the NS2020 strategy for Federal telecommunications and supports three objectives:

  • To enable the American people and an increasingly mobile workforce to access high-quality digital government information and services anywhere, anytime, on any device.
  • To ensure that, as the government adjusts to this new digital world, we seize the opportunity to procure and manage devices, applications, and data in smart, secure and affordable ways.
  • To unlock the power of government data to spur innovation across our Nation and improve the quality of services for the American people.

Alliant 2 & Alliant 2 Small Business GWACs

Government Wide Acquisition Contracts (GWACs) have an estimated value over $50 Billion.  The current Alliant & Alliant SB GWACS have totaled $24B in sales. Both are currently in the Draft RFP stage but the RFQs are expected to be released in April or May. Watch the FBO page for updates.
