With budget reductions imminent, GSA, like other Government agencies, has conducted an internal review of its organizational structure and has identified several areas of redundancies. Consequently, GSA has initiated efforts to reorganize with the goals of creating efficiencies and increasing accountability.
According to the GSA Acting Administrator, Dan Tangherlini, GSA has initiated its plans to consolidate divisions managed by high-level executives. The IT functions throughout GSA will all report to the GSA CIO; HR and administrative functions will fall under the purview of the Chief People Officer, etc.
These changes should create greater efficiencies for GSA and help them cope with budget cuts and increasing workload. At this time, we don’t foresee any impact on GSA Schedule contractors.
Coley GSA will continue to watch this development and keep you, the government contractor, apprised of changes that affect your business.
