DOD eMall Returns!
UPDATE: The eMall solicitation has been released.
Last year, Defense Logistics Agency temporarily suspended awards to their eCommerce site, DoD eMall, while they worked out a structure and system that could handle the product listings and market research needed without being reliant on outside vehicles, such as the GSA Schedule award system.
All those holding their breath should exhale, DLA has released a pre-solicitation for the new DLA DoD eMall Multiple Award Schedule (FBO). As stated on the posting the solicitation “seeks to establish Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) type contracts for various commercially available off-the-shelf (COTS) items which will be ordered through the DOD EMALL system for delivery to DOD EMALL customers worldwide”
The posting goes on to state that eMall will only serve as an interim solution until the replacement is launched, Next Generation e-Commerce Solution (NGe-Com), which may become a “Federal Mall”, or “FedMall”
The estimated launch date of FedMall is the Q3 2015.
FBO makes three draft documents available:
Attachment 1 – Supplier Informational Package and Business Rules; &
Attachment 2 – DOD EMALL Catalog Loader Template and Instructions
“The final solicitation along with attachments will be made available via download from the DLA Internet Bid Board System (DIBBS) at https://www.dibbs.bsm.dla.mil/.”
