The General Service Administrations (GSA) announced in their Steps Newsletter (Spring 2014) that they implemented new Audit procedures that impact GSA Schedule holders.

Effective this month, monitoring 72A Sales Reporting and IFF Payment compliance of GSA Schedule holders will be added to the responsibilities of the GSA Industrial Operations Analyst (IOA) and will be reviewed during the IOA’s onsite and virtual Contractor Assistance Visits. These new responsibilities are added to the IOA’s current responsibilities that include review of the Minimum Sales Clause, Price Reduction Clause, Sales Tracking System, Contract Scope, and Trade Agreement Act (TAA) compliance among many others.

The friendly Contractor Assistance Visit (CAV) that you’re used to having every two years will transition to a more serious, compliance-based audit that occurs once every five years to coincide with contract renewals and will allow for an intensive pre-award compliance audit.

With these changes comes more scrutiny that can result in substantial paybacks to the Government, cancellation of your contract, or suspension/debarment for non-compliance.

Now is the time to ensure that you are compliant with the terms of your GSA Schedule contract and have processes in place to ensure continued compliance.
